Herts Careline has been appointed by Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) as their sole provider for delivery of assistive technology services across Hertfordshire.

This is a significant milestone for the service as HCC’s health and social care professionals will now make direct referrals to Herts Careline for those needing community alarms, telecare and other assistive technology solutions.

Herts Careline has also begun transferring approximately 3,300 of HCC’s previous provider’s service users across to their Control Room.

Assistive technology, such as community alarms and telecare services, provide much needed reassurance for service users and their friends, families, and carers, as they know help is on hand if they fall or feel unwell, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Cllr Gary Grindal, North Hertfordshire District Council’s Executive Member for Housing and Environmental Health , said: “This is a significant achievement for the Careline Team, not only to be appointed as the sole provider for the County Council service users, which shows a significant level of trust in Careline’s service, but also that the service transfer has been a success so far and most importantly has been seamless for the service users. Thank you to the Careline team who work tirelessly to ensure this hand over worked so well during such difficult and trying times for everybody.”
