This project, being led by Hertfordshire County Council (HCC), is to support the people in Hertfordshire who have had a letter from the NHS advising them to have no face-to-face contact for 12 weeks. Some of these people will not have support from family and friends and so they will be prioritised to receive food and essential medication.
Around 20,000+ people in Hertfordshire received letters from the Government approximately ten days ago informing them of being in the high risk category and were advised to self isolate for 12 weeks.
People who indicated an urgent need for help with medicines are being contacted and HCC are following up to offer support. HCC have an agreed approach for communicating with community pharmacies and offering them access to volunteers to assist in maintaining their operations.
