VE Day on 8 May 1945 was the official day that the war between Britain and Germany came to an end.

Whilst it’s a shame that the usual celebrations for VE Day are not able to take place this year, there’s still plenty going on both online and on the television for you to enjoy.

  • There will be a 2 minute silence at 11am so you can take a moment to reflect
  • There’s a ‘Nation’s Toast’ at 3pm where you can raise a glass to the heroes of WW2
  • The Queen will address the Nation at 9pm

Some neighbourhoods are even having a cuppa with their neighbours in the front gardens – all at a social distance of course.

However you mark the day, it’s certainly a special milestone in Britain’s history, and one many of our customers will have personal experience of.
