Office base will be Council Offices, Letchworth. However, on occasion it will be necessary to work from the disaster recovery site at short notice; also based in Letchworth, and you will be required to have the capacity to attend that location as soon as is reasonably practicable, or within 30mins as a maximum.

Herts Careline is expanding and looking to recruit for 4 positions.
2 x 37hrs, 1 x 18.5hrs, 1 x 20hrs
These hours follow a 7-week rolling pattern which can be requested.
You need to be able to complete all shifts stated on the rota for which you are applying for.
For all positions you will be answering calls from a range of service users, contacts and professionals with various needs. You may deal with someone who is distressed with an emergency medical need; essentially saving their lives. You may provide reassurance to callers on a variety of matters. You may also handle more routine calls like housing repairs, testing of the equipment and updating records. Every day is different.
We are looking for motivated, caring, and hardworking individuals to be first point of contact for our customers in an emergency situation. To succeed as an emergency call handler, you must possess a genuine desire to help people, be empathetic to our customers’ needs, be highly proactive adaptable to change and able to work in a high-pressured environment with high levels of autonomy. Must be computer literate.
The starting salary for all positions is £10.66 per hour. There are enhancements in addition for any evening work 8pm-6am (@ 0.3) and weekend work (@ 0.5)
