Professionals - telecare equipment

We can offer a wide variety of both general and complex needs telecare depending on the needs of service users.

General telecare

General telecare equipment:

  • Alarm base unit and pendant – the alarm unit sends an alert call to our control centre when the pendant or other sensor is triggered 24/7.
  • Fall detector - aim to detect a fall automatically and sends an alert for help
Please note: a fall detector is only effective for those service users that are at very high risk of falls such those living with Epilepsy (or other blackout conditions), or those living with Dementia.

Supplying service users with a Fall Detector, where they do not have the above conditions, can cause distress, as they can generate false calls due to the way they are used.

  • Smoke detector – if it senses smoke it automatically sends an alert to the control centre; this can be a potential lifesaver.
  • Carbon monoxide detector – if carbon monoxide is sensed, the device alerts the control centre immediately.
  • Ambient temperature monitor – detects abnormal temperatures, or a sudden rise or fall in temperature.
  • Heat sensor – if a significant rise in room temperature is detected, an alarm is triggered.
  •  Flood detector - alerts to a bath or sink overflowing which could cause water damage or expense.

Complex needs telecare

If a service user has complex needs, our professional assessment team, Independent Living Supplies, will visit them at home to determine which of our telecare solutions are the most appropriate.

We also work with local authorities to support those living in their sheltered housing and independent living facilities.

Complex needs equipment:

  • Pill / Medication Dispenser -  a carrousel with slots which can be loaded with pills, and can be dispensed at pre-set times each day to remind the person to take their medication. This can be monitored by our control room.
  • Deaf smoke alarm / vibrating pad – if a fire is detected the smoke alarm sounds, the strobe light flashes, the pillow pad vibrates and an alarm call is triggered.
  • Bed and floor mats – to ensure a person has returned to their chair, bed or room during the day or night.
  • Timed bed alarms - alerting a family member or carer if the user was out of bed, or not back in bed, within a pre-set time
  • Home & Away Service - SEVEN and GO - a community alarm base unit and pendant incorporating GPS and 3G mobile technology, which can be used both inside and outside the homeTemporarily Out of Stock
  • Panic buttons - for those at risk
  • Environmental sensors – detecting fire, excessive temperature and flooding
  • Fall detector – aims to detect a fall
  • Enuresis sensors – alerting some to a person who is incontinent and requiring personal care
  • Epilepsy alarms –  a range of epilepsy monitoring sensors covering different seizure types
  • AIRlert - a convulsion sensor mat is placed underneath the bed mattress and will detect the movements typical of a seizure in bed. It can be used at home, in a care home and hospital environments. The linked pager can be carried by a carer and will bleep, flash and vibrate when the convulsion sensor mat is activated.
  • Companion Mini - a small, digital movement sensor can be applied in some of the most challenging situations when supporting tonic-clonic seizures.
  • Door alarms – monitoring the exit of the main door as well as individual rooms within the flats where people may require support, for example, bathrooms visits
