Last week, we were fortunate to have a visit from members of the Early Intervention Team (EIV) West. The EIV can provide an urgent response to people in the community for certain situations, such as when they have fallen, have a minor injury or ailments amongst many other concerns. The fully qualified paramedics and crew provide medical assessments as well as looking at the patient and carer functions within the home environment to see whether the patient can remain at home with community resources and assistive equipment. If the patient does require a visit to hospital, an emergency ambulance will be despatched to take them.
Herts Careline call upon EIV most days to help members of our service if they have experienced a fall or other issue. It was useful to see a demonstration of the emergency lifting chair that the paramedics use to help carefully lift someone from the floor back to their feet.
Thank you for visiting us, EIV.
