When activated, the device uses 4G/3G technology to send an alert, along with your GPS location, to Herts Careline’s 24/7 control room. You can then speak with the call operator through the device’s speakerphone, and help will be arranged. What does the service include? Activate the outdoor alarm to send an alert by pressing and holding both buttons on each side of the device at the same time. A call operator will receive your location and speak to you through the pendant’s speakerphone. There is also a microphone in the device, so you can respond if possible. Installation of the outdoor alarm We aim to have your emergency home alarm set up within 10 working days but this is often sooner, especially in certain situations. In some emergency cases (such as being discharged from hospital), we will try to install your home alarm within a couple of working days. Is the device water resistant? Yes - the device can be worn in the shower or rain; however, it shouldn't be submergered in water. Can I wear the GPS alarm with a pacemaker? Yes, we can supply longer neck chains and alternatively, it can also be adapted to attach to your belt or trousers. Please be aware that the GPS alarm must be kept at least 25 cm away from your pacemaker at all times. Will the GPS alarm track my location all the time? No - your location is only shared with our control room when you activate the alarm. We can’t access your location at any other time.
