From Monday 2nd June 2025, you might see a public awareness campaign launch across national TV, radio, social media and press channels to highlight the impact of the digital telephone switchover, particularly for those using telecare services.
Herts Careline want to reassure you that if your community alarm or telecare service is with us, then you will already have been switched to digital so your Herts Careline service will not be affected. And all new customers with upcoming installation appointments will be given digital equipment. It’s all in hand and ready for the digital switchover, and has been for some time, so you’re in safe hands.
In the future, if any equipment upgrades are due, our team will always contact you in good time to arrange a convenient appointment.
What about scams?
Some criminals are using the digital switchover as an opportunity to scam people, for example tricking them into providing their bank details or passwords. Telecoms companies will never ask for this type of personal information and if you think someone has been a victim of a scam or fraud relating to telecare, report this as a safeguarding concern and advise them to contact their bank.
