The UK's telephone network is changing. Between now and 2027, most telephone providers will be moving their customers from old analogue landlines to upgraded digital landline services.
Your community alarm service is unaffected, as we have already provided you with a digital alarm that does not require a landline connection.
However, if your home telephone still uses an analogue landline for making calls to friends and family, your telephone provider may contact you to arrange an upgrade to a digital service.
If you are contacted, it is important to make sure you are dealing with the telephone provider you currently use. Criminals may try to take advantage of these network changes to target vulnerable people through scams. If you are unsure whether a call, email, text message or letter is genuine, contact your provider directly using a trusted telephone number or website, and speak to family to show them the communications before acting on therm.
Once you are satisfied that the communication is legitimate, your provider will help you arrange the upgrade to your digital landline service.
